Mesh chair and Google TV: Find HaloShort before you sit

Your mesh chair may face the desk by day and the TV by night. If the screen uses Google TV, first check whether that interface comes from the TV itself or an external box. That tells you which device to check for HaloShort and where to install it.

First distinguish the TV itself from an external box

HaloShort targets Android TV, Google TV, and compatible TV devices with underlying Android support. The Google TV interface at home may come from the TV or from a box connected to the screen; whichever device the app is meant to be installed on, check that device's model and system.

"There's a smart TV at home" isn't specific enough. Installation conditions can differ between models of the same brand. Confirming the actual running device first, then finding the corresponding acquisition method, can save a few detours.

Find the app from the Emotn entry

Open the Emotn store to learn about device-side acquisition instructions, search HaloShort, verify the app name, then download and install according to the corresponding guidance. The store webpage is an entry point; opening the webpage doesn't mean the app is already installed on the TV.

Which preparations are needed first depends on the store and the specific device instructions. When the system shows installation conditions or permission prompts, read the prompt clearly first, confirm the source being used, then handle it according to the device instructions; menu names don't have to match across different models.

After installation, try a complete run-through

Enter the app, first use the direction keys to move around, confirm entering content, then return to the previous level. After opening an episode, check how to pause and resume. Download completion, app opening, and video actually playing are different stages; only trying the last step tells whether this setup is usable.

Only at the end do you sit back in the mesh chair to watch subtitles

From the usual sitting position, confirm whether the target episode has the needed subtitles, and whether the text is complete and readable. The mesh chair originally faced the desktop; after changing the viewing direction, judgments made while standing in front of the TV can't be carried over.

HaloShort currently offers free viewing. On the first night, just pick something interesting and try watching; there's no need to study all the settings at once. Next time sitting in this spot, the familiar app entry and pause action are already sorted—what's left is which story you want to watch tonight.
